Institut Carnot M.I.N.E.S.

Through its Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department (UCP) and Mechanical Engineering Department (UME), ENSTA Paris is labelled Carnot through its involvement in the M.I.N.E.S. institute. (Innovative Approaches for Businesses and the Society). The Institut Carnot M.I.N.E.S. is the leading school for partnership research and innovation at the service of the industry. It brings together the research forces of more than 2,500 researchers from eight of the largest engineering universities: the 6 mining universities of the Institut Mines-Télécom, Polytechnique and ENSTA Paris.

The research topics

The Institut Carnot M.I.N.E.S. aligns itself with the research topics corresponding to the markets with high growth potential: energy of the future, raw and recycled materials, materials of the future, complex systems and innovation methodology.

It contributes to the growth of competitiveness of businesses by deploying its “research-oriented” strategy. This concept, invented at Mines ParisTech in 1967, consists of developing a research work with high scientific added value, but inspired by a reality or an industrial opportunity.
